Whippet

Whippets were developed by crossing Greyhounds with smaller terriers - resulting in sleek, elegant dogs who are gentle and affectionate. These medium-size hounds have short coats covering their streamlined bodies and long muscular legs. Their name comes from the phrase 'whip it' meaning "run fast" perfectly describing their 35 mph running speed. Quiet, intelligent, and gentle.
