Irish Setters are rowdy redheads from Ireland.
Their coats weren't always red. Owners once
preferred them to be red & white, easier to see
in hunting fields. As they gained popularity as
show dogs & were used less for hunting, solid
red coats became the fashionable standard.
Originally developed as bird dogs -
flamboyant, driven & energetic.
