timber industry in the early 1960s -
Taken public in 1988, the company
invested in specialized retail and
changed it's name to PPR.

In 2003, PPR shifted
to luxury and fashion.
He passed on the companies'
management to his elder son
François Henri to follow his
love for art.

Pinault is one of the world's leading
contemporary art collectors.
